Australian to be charged over partner's jet ski death, Thai police say

An Australian man will confront a neglectful driving charge over a fly ski crash that slaughtered his accomplice in Thailand, police say.

Emily Jayne Collie, 20, kicked the bucket in the crash including two leased stream skis on the resort island of Phuket on Sunday.

Thomas Keating, 22, told police that daylight reflecting off the water kept him from seeing Ms Collie, the Bangkok Post announced.

The Australian lady's family are venturing out to gather her body.

"Ms Collie's beau, Mr Keating, who was driving the other stream ski when they impacted, will confront a charge of heedless driving creating passing," neighborhood police lieutenant Patiwat Yodkhwan told correspondents.

She endured neck and shoulder wounds in the crash and was articulated dead on landing in a close-by clinic.

Australian consular authorities are giving help to her family.

Relatives "crushed"

Lt Patiwat said the fly ski proprietor did not need installment for harm to the machines since "he needs Phuket to have a decent notoriety as an occasion goal".

Mr Keating's sister, Bree Lyon, revealed to Fairfax Media her family was "completely crushed" about Ms Collie's passing.
